  10. There's no install program. Just unzip to some directory then run
  11. Xnews.exe. If you are upgrading, just unzip and overwrite
  12. everything.

  14. The first time you run Xnews, it will bring up the Setup dialog.
  15. Enter your name, etc. I'll only describe the unfamiliar items
  16. here.

  21. This is the email you want to put in your From: header when
  22. posting to usenet. In contrast. Email is the email you want to to
  23. use when replying via private email.
  24. Why use separate emails for usenet and mail? I do it to help deal
  25. with spam.

  29. This is a string Xnews embeds in Message-ID in order to track
  30. your posts and alert you to replies to your articles. You can use
  31. any string of letters and numbers. I use my email without the @
  32. and . luutrangeocitiescom. The idea is to use a string that noone
  33. else is likely to use.

  35. Once you've done that, click Okay. Xnews will ask you to create a
  36. server profile. (The program can deal with multiple servers.)
  37. Enter the server name, e.g., news.mindspring.com. Then enter an
  38. alias or title for the server, e.g., Mindspring. The alias is
  39. what will appear on the menu.

  41. That's it. You should now say yes when it asks if you want to
  42. retrieve the newsgroup list. Kick back and enjoy.
